By downloading or using japo, you agree to these terms. They are intentionally short: the app counts beads. The terms reflect that scope.

License

Swarmval grants you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive, revocable licence to install and use japo on Apple devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial devotional or contemplative practice. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, sublicense, reverse-engineer, or create derivative works from the app or any part of it.

No account required

You do not create an account with us. There is no username or password. Your practice data is stored on your device. Secure your device — anyone with physical access to it has access to your practice.

Subscriptions

japo is available through two auto-renewing subscription plans managed entirely by Apple:

Prices are displayed in USD. Pricing in your region is set by Apple and may vary. Subscriptions auto-renew at the end of each period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in your Apple ID account settings (Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions). Cancelling stops future charges but does not refund the current period. All payment processing is handled by Apple; we never see your payment method or billing information.

Refund requests must be directed to Apple in accordance with Apple's standard refund policy at reportaproblem.apple.com. We are unable to issue refunds directly.

Pro features

An active subscription ("Japo Pro") unlocks: all seven bead materials, all sacred geometry yantras, multiple simultaneous sankalps, Lock Screen widgets, advanced naam-jap Bank history (including printable PDF scrolls and anniversary certificates), and festival-aware auto-tune. Custom naam-jap (writing your own sacred name) is always free. The core counting functionality and 21 pre-loaded Hindu mantras are available free of charge.

Your content

Any sankalp text you enter and any custom mantras you write remain on your device at all times. We have no access to this content. You retain full ownership of anything you create within the app. If you delete the app, this content is deleted with it unless you have iCloud backups enabled.

Acceptable use

Use japo for your own practice. Do not attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app, circumvent any technical protection measures, or use automated means to interact with the app.

Disclaimers and limitation of liability

japo is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranty of any kind — express, implied, or statutory — including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. japo is a tool for personal contemplative practice. It is not a substitute for the guidance of a qualified spiritual teacher, physician, or mental health professional. Swarmval's total liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to these terms or the app shall not exceed the amount you paid for your current subscription period.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of India.

Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated within the app. Continued use of japo after such notice constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
