This policy describes how japo (the iOS app published by Swarmval) handles information about you. We built japo to be a place of practice, not a data pipeline. The defaults reflect that.

What we collect

Firebase Analytics (anonymous usage events). The app uses Google Firebase Analytics to collect anonymous, aggregated usage events — for example, "a mala was completed" or "an atmosphere was opened." These events contain no personally identifying information. We cannot link an event to you as an individual. Firebase Analytics data is processed by Google and governed by Google's Privacy Policy. You can opt out of analytics tracking in your device's system settings under Privacy & Security → Tracking.

Apple StoreKit transactions. If you subscribe to japo, your payment and subscription status are managed entirely by Apple through StoreKit. We receive only an anonymised receipt confirming entitlement — we never receive your name, email, card number, or billing address. Apple's handling of payment data is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.

Crash and diagnostic reports (optional). If you have enabled Share Analytics with App Developers in iOS settings, Apple may forward anonymised crash reports to us. These contain stack traces and device type — no identifiers, no content.

What we do not collect

We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, location, contacts, photos, microphone audio, or health data. Your sankalp text — the personal intention you set in the app — is stored only on your device and is never transmitted anywhere, by anyone, for any reason. Custom mantras you write are also stored locally only.

Where your practice data lives

Your complete practice history — jap counts, streaks, sankalp, atmosphere and material preferences — is stored in your device's local storage. If you have iCloud Drive enabled, iOS may sync this data to your private iCloud account so it appears on your other Apple devices. This sync is end-to-end encrypted by Apple; neither we nor Apple can read it.

No data is sold, rented, or shared with any other third party for advertising or profiling purposes.

Children

japo is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children.

Your rights

Because we hold only anonymous analytics data, there is no personally identifiable record to access, correct, or export. If you believe we hold information about you that you would like deleted, write to deepkiran.ca+apple@gmail.com with the subject "Privacy deletion request" and we will investigate and respond within 30 days.

Changes to this policy

If we make a material change to this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you within the app.
